In this article, I would like to give you an overview of our VanEssa Riva rear pull-out. I am Johanna, a VanEssa employee and have already had the pull-out installed in my bus. My family and I have been putting it through its paces over the last few weeks. As a mom of a 2-year-old son, I have to transport all sorts of things on a regular basis - whether it's for everyday life or weekend trips. With children, you somehow always have half the household with you...

What is a rear extension?

This is a kind of drawer system with 4.8 cm high side walls, which you can easily pull out of the trunk to access items at the rear. This saves you the hassle of crawling around and having to back into boxes when the trunk is almost a meter deep.

Why a rear pull-out? How do we use it?

We also love using the rear pull-out in everyday life. The cool box is always ready on the pull-out. The chilled groceries can be stored directly in it. This means you can relax and enjoy an ice cream after shopping or go to another store. The pull-out is also particularly suitable for loading and unloading crates of drinks in everyday life. Especially when we still have the baby carriage in the car, additional luggage can be stowed away perfectly. For us with a child, it is particularly important that we can leave both the three-seater bench and two single seats in the back of the car, which is not a problem here.

A large trunk is a great thing, but without a good organization system, chaos can quickly ensue. Boxes have to be stacked, pushed and rearranged. Items at the back can hardly be reached properly without clearing everything out. This is why more and more people are opting for a heavy-duty pull-out for the trunk. This allows the storage space to be optimally utilized and makes loading and unloading much easier.

Anyone who transports large sports equipment in their free time will also love it. Climbing equipment for the mountains can be stowed away very conveniently and chilled drinks are waiting for us in the cool box. We've been in love with the pull-out since our last short vacation. Especially with a small child, you have so many bulky bits and bobs with you that still find their place on the rear pull-out despite the kitchen module.

Fitting the VanEssa rear extension

One major advantage is that retrofitting a rear extension can be easily mastered by non-professionals.

The VanEssa system can be easily attached to the existing rail system or a floor plate. This means that nothing needs to be changed on the vehicle.
Another advantage of the heavy-duty pull-out in the rear is that it can be left in the vehicle during everyday use, meaning that regular installation and removal is not necessary.

The right VanEssa kitchen module Riva with sink, storage space and cooking facilities just needs to be placed on the rear pull-out and fastened and you're ready to go.

Screw-in sleeves for safe transportation are already pre-assembled, others can of course be ordered on request. 
With an existing VanEssa rear board, the rear extension will be attached to the existing brackets.

What makes the VanEssa mobilcamping rear extension so special?

The VanEssa development team has taken enough time to offer a sophisticated product. Our aim is for customers to enjoy using this rear pull-out in their leisure time, on vacation or even at work. Good quality and convenient handling are therefore particularly important to us.

The rear extension is made of particularly lightweight, anodized aluminium and a non-slip film plywood screen-printed panel. We deliberately opted for a wooden base plate, as this allows us to incorporate individual fastening points such as eyelets or slots for tensioning with straps. This allows us to respond even better to the personal needs of our customers.

When fully extended and in the vehicle, the rails lock automatically so that loading and unloading can be carried out conveniently and safely even on sloping terrain.
Our specially developed single-handed release makes it possible to pull out even with a child or luggage in your arms.

The VanEssa rear pull-out is equipped with VanEssa sleep systems such as the surfer bed (also split) or van bed and can be retrofitted without additional effort. Both can also be used independently of each other.

A matching kitchen module can also be added, as mentioned above. There is definitely enough space next to this for a large cool box or other large items.

The drawer runners are designed for a load capacity of 250 kg. We recommend a maximum load of 150 kg distributed over the entire surface when extended.

Our tip for interested campers: For families, the kitchen is best suited for short breaks or breaks in between (e.g. after sport etc.) due to the minimized storage space. This module offers less organized storage space for extended family vacations. Here I recommend the rear pull-out with the VanEssa rear kitchen to swap. Every part has its place there and the storage space is utilized to the maximum again.
