VANESSA TAILGATE HOOK FOR VENTILATION

Safe fresh air supply via the tailgate

This little helper is ideal for ventilating your T5 / T6 / T6.1.

The hook is simply attached into the lower locking bar of the tailgate and serves as an extension to the original lock.

Overview and advantages

It is not possible to reach through or open from the outside when the vehicle is locked

Improved air circulation can be achieved, for example, in combination with a side ventilation grille for the sliding window or our VanEssa mosquito nets. The tailgate is opened a few centimetres, but still remains locked and burglar-proof.

Another advantage: ventilation with the tailgate hook is also possible in the rain - it doesn't rain through the trunk lid.

Our tip: The extra-long hook is suitable for wide tailgates (with thick cladding, California Beach with chairs, etc.), as otherwise hardly any air can get in.

When ordering, please specify the vehicle type in the selection field (dropdown) and, for VW T5 / T6 / T6.1, with or without closing aid!
Please do not confuse the closing aid with the closing loop.
This refers to an electric closing assistant, which can be recognized by an audible noise when the tailgate touches the closing point. Here a Video how the tailgate closes the last few centimeters by itself = with closing aid.
VW with locking aid: sometimes the bus locks in such a way that the hook is stuck - see here in the Video how it can be released again.
When closing, make sure that the tailgate engages fully. If you close the tailgate carefully, you will hear it "click" twice.
Length: the standard hook results in a smaller, but usually sufficient ventilation gap. The extra-long version extends the gap by a further 4 cm, allowing more air to enter.
With a electric tailgate we recommend not to use the tailgate hook . Although this is possible, it can lead to irritation of the electronics.
